Property has always been a keen investment for Australians, even among those staying abroad.

The Christmas break is often a time when Australian expatriates buy properties back in Australia to eventually occupy as their home when their overseas assignments end.

But those overseas trying to channel their hard-earned money here for investment and handy returns need to be wary. Or you will invariably pay a premium for the purchase if you’ve skipped proper research.
