Penjonan, a Hillsborough farm that has been an operational veal-raising business, has been listed for the first time in four decades.

The 50 hectare property has a 1970s homestead designed by Newcastle architect Steve Busteed.

Situated at 1405 Maitland Vale Road, it has five bedrooms, a home office and a covered tiled verandah.

Surrounding the home are gardens that feature a swimming pool and tennis court, as well as a brick barbecue and landscaped yard.

The rest of the property has been cleared to shade trees and divided into nine fenced pasture paddocks, including a bull paddock.

River Realty Maitland agent Chris Henry is marketing the property with a guide of $1.7 million to $1.8 million.
