Golden Age offering try before you buy at Glen Waverley apartment development, Sky Garden

Prospective buyers at the recently completed Glen Waverley apartment development, Sky Garden, will be able to stay in a furnished apartment before committing to a purchase.

The 'Try Before You Buy' initiative offers two nights in a different selection of apartments above The Glen Shopping Centre, which has recently undergone a $430 million redevelopment.

Buyers will have access to all amenities of Sky Garden, including the swimming pool, gym, library and mahjong room. They will also have the same booking privileges as residents, with the ability too book out the private dining room or movie theatre.

Sky Garden, designed by Rothelowman, gets its name from its 4,000 sqm outdoor podium garden complete with a relaxation zone, entertainment lounges, vegetable gardens, children’s play area and outdoor fitness areas.

There will be six different configurations on offer to stay in, allowing residents to literally live in the apartment they could buy.

Golden Age Sales and Marketing Director Dandan Zhao said buyers are often hesitant to buy an apartment if they are conditioned to living in a house, but once they try it, it provides them a new perspective.

“We had the parents of a purchaser house-sit his two-bedroom plus study apartment while he was away for work and following their stay, they purchased a three-bedroom apartment and sold their house in Glen Waverley," Zhao said.

“They always thought Living in an apartment meant a compromised lifestyle but having experienced it for themselves, they were surprised at how convenient it was. They still have access to a garden to enjoy without the maintenance and everything they need is within easy reach.

“We want others to experience the benefits of Living in an apartment firsthand as we believe it will help break down any misconceptions they may have,” she said.

The idea was further cemented when a number of influencers enjoyed a complimentary stay at Sky Garden and after experiencing the amenities firsthand, enquired about available apartments.

To be eligible to partake in ‘try before you buy’, prospective purchasers must be close to making a purchase at Sky Garden.

“The initiative is for those who are close to making a decision but would like to trial living there before they fully commit; it also provides them with the option of trialing one floor plan and realising it’s either too big or too small and to explore what else is available,” Zhao added.

Located in Melbourne’s Glen Waverley, Australia’s largest air rights development to date was designed in collaboration with multi-award winning architect Rothelowman, with interiors by DKO Architecture and landscaping by ASPECT Studios.
