Six leaves is the new gold standard as developers look to create more environmentally sustainable communities within south east Queensland.

As the state&rsquo;s population continues to surge, the need for more homes grows with it, placing pressure on greenfield developments and the impact accommodating the growth has on the environment.

EnviroDevelopment is a scientifically-based assessment scheme that independently reviews development projects, and awards certification to those that achieve outstanding performance across four or more of the provided elements, which includes categories; Ecosystems, Waste, Energy, Materials, Water and Community.

AVID Property Group&nbsp;was an early adopter of independently reviewed EnviroDevelopment certification across its portfolio, continuing this accreditation with its new Northern Gold Coast housing development.

Prior to its official launch, Amara by AVID Property Group in Northern Gold Coast was recognised by the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) receiving six &lsquo;Leaf&rsquo; national EnviroDevelopment certification - the highest possible level of accreditation.

The first built form community in AVID&rsquo;s portfolio to achieve this certification, Amara met rigorous criteria demonstrating outstanding performance across all six elements of assessment including ecosystems, waste, energy, materials, water, and community.

AVID&rsquo;s General Manager Queensland Bruce Harper said the developer is prioritising sustainable measures to align with exponential population growth and their sustainable savvy customers.
